Privacy Policy for Fasting Center

Last updated: July 15, 2026

Overview

Fasting Center ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a fasting and health-tracking app developed by Andrey Titov, an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices you have.

The App is available for iPhone. Related content and calculators are available at fasting.center, which has its own data practices described on that site.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

Summary

  • You can use the App fully without creating an account. In guest mode, your data stays on your device.

  • If you create an account, your fasting and health data is synced to our cloud database (Google Firebase, hosted in the United States) so you can restore it if you reinstall the App or switch devices.

  • We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your data for advertising.

  • You can delete your data, or your entire account, from inside the App at any time

Information We Collect

Account information (only if you create an account). Your email address, display name, and a unique account identifier. You can sign up with email and password, Google, or Apple. If you sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email," we receive and store Apple's private relay address instead of your real email. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password.

Fasting and health information you enter. Fasting sessions (start and end times, plan type), an optional mood rating when you end a fast, body measurements (weight, body fat percentage, waist), biomarker readings you enter (blood ketones, blood glucose), wellbeing ratings (energy, hunger, motivation, anxiety), notes you write, and inputs you provide to the fasting calculators (such as age, height, weight, biological sex, body fat, and activity level).

Apple Health data (only if you connect Apple Health). With your permission, the App reads your weight, body fat percentage, blood glucose, step count, and heart rate from Apple Health, and writes back weight and body fat values you enter manually. Health-derived weight and body fat readings are stored in the App like other measurements — which means that if you are signed in to an account, they are synced to our cloud database along with your other data. You can manage or revoke the App's Health access at any time in the iOS Health app's privacy settings.

Automatically collected technical data. We use two Google Firebase services to keep the App working well:

  • Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): if the App crashes, technical details about the crash (device model, operating system version, and the state of the App's code at the time) are sent to us so we can fix bugs. Crash reports do not intentionally include your health data, notes, or account information. We use them only to diagnose and fix software problems.

  • Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics): basic, automatically collected usage events such as app opens, session counts, and screens viewed, along with a device identifier (Apple's "identifier for vendor"). We use this only to understand overall usage of the App (for example, how many people use it each day). We do not log your health values, notes, or any content you enter into analytics. We do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the App never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt because no tracking occurs.

What we do NOT collect. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or browsing history. We do not collect any data for advertising purposes. We do not sell your personal information.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the App's features: tracking fasts, logging measurements, showing trends and projections.

  • To back up and restore your data across reinstalls and devices, if you have an account.

  • To fix crashes and improve reliability.

  • To understand overall usage of the App at an aggregate level.

  • To respond when you contact us for support.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Guest mode: your data is stored only on your device.

With an account: your fasting and health data, email, and display name are stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), on Google Cloud servers located in the United States. Google acts as our service provider and processes this data on our behalf to provide storage, authentication, crash reporting, and analytics; Google does not use it for its own advertising purposes.

Google Cloud encrypts data in transit and at rest using its standard security protections. Access to your cloud data is restricted so that only your authenticated account can read or write it.

International Users

If you use the App outside the United States, be aware that your data (including health data, if you create an account) is transferred to and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By creating an account, you consent to this transfer. If you prefer that your health data never leave your device, you can use the App in guest mode, which stores everything locally.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your data or your account (see below), the corresponding data is deleted from our cloud database. We do not have a practice of retaining copies of deleted user data, though residual copies may persist briefly in service-provider backups before being purged in the normal course.

Crash reports and analytics data are retained by Firebase according to its standard retention schedules and are then deleted or aggregated.

Your Choices and Controls

Use guest mode. The App is fully usable without an account; in that case your data never leaves your device (other than crash reports and the basic analytics described above).

Delete your data. Settings → "Delete my data" permanently deletes all fasting logs, measurements, and notes from your device and, if you are signed in, from our cloud database. Your account itself remains.

Delete your account. Settings → "Delete account" permanently deletes your data and your account (email, display name, and account identifier). For your protection, you will be asked to re-authenticate first.

Apple Health. Deleting your data or account does not disconnect Apple Health or remove entries the App already saved to Apple Health — that data belongs to your Health record. You can review or remove it, and disconnect the App, in the iOS Health app's privacy settings.

Export or access. To request a copy of the data associated with your account, contact us at the address below.

Sign out. Signing out removes your data from the device's active session; it remains in your cloud account and is restored when you sign back in.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Union, United Kingdom, or California), you may have legal rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. The App's built-in deletion tools cover the most common requests. For anything else, contact us at the address below and we will respond to your request as required by applicable law. To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Fasting is not appropriate for children; the App's content is intended for adults.

Health Disclaimer

The App provides informational estimates and general educational content about fasting. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Calculations and projections are estimates, not measurements. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting a fasting practice, especially if you have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a history of disordered eating.

Security

We use industry-standard protections: encrypted connections, encrypted storage, and authenticated access scoped to your own account. We use separate development and production systems where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. For significant changes, we will provide notice within the App or on our website.
